Just a few Alabama/North Florida snaps from the last couple of weeks. Including the above clip of my brother’s 10-year-old bull, Amos. He’s not much of a conversationalist, but always seems to say a lot with his eyes (i.e., take one more step towards me and I can’t be responsible for the consequences.)

Hank, again, but not standing quite as tall. Sadly—and coincidentally—the bottle finally “let him down” (for good) on New Year’s Day, 1953.
Some of you know I have an incurable case of G.A.S (“guitar acquisition syndrome”). This one? Um…Hank made me do it?
My old friend Bill makes fancy cocktails. This is an “Improved Japanese Cocktail.” Since I’ve never had an “Unimproved Japanese Cocktail,” I have no basis for comparison (but Bill’s was a tasty sedative indeed).
Fresh Cedar Key oyster. So fresh, in fact, this one was tumbling around in the Gulf of Mexico day before yesterday. Shortly after this shot, it tumbled into in my brother’s stomach.
Freshly plucked Camellia blossom. Perhaps for some of you, a bit more appetizing than the oyster?
